The Wolf Pack

Every June there is a large pack of BIG bass that exit the Hudson. The bite is insane with 30-50lb bass blowing up on bunker. The bite will happen out of nowhere at any given time. You could wait around for hours upon hours thinking it isn't gonna happen. Then 300 yards away an acre of bass will go ballistic blowing bunker out of the water. Other days you could wait around all day and it doesn't happen. It is frustrating and sometimes you just can't put your finger on any type of pattern. But, when it happens the action is fast and furious and usually lasts a half hour to an hour. Large hollow beast flies match the hatch and big swimmers and pencil poppers for spinning gear are successful.
